Marta Nation: Marta has plenty to be proud of after loss

So I know I'm supposed to be writing about Nole's big comeback or Nole and Rafa winning against the young guns, or maybe even about Coco advancing to the French Open quarters. But let's be real this is all about my fave Marta!

I could not be more proud of her after today's loss to Swiatek, 6-3, 6-4. She played well throughout. She pushed the best claycourter in the women's game, taking more games off of her (7) than anyone has the last two French Opens.

Marta will learn from this, Marta needs matches like this to help make her a better player.

Marta had plenty of chances. She pushed a top player and should be very happy with how she played. Iga was simply too good and experienced for Marta on the day.

I hope this is the start of a great rivalry. I think today showed what kind of matches these two can produce and all tennis fans will be excited to watch the matches of great quality.

Marta now needs to go to the grass season and see what she can do. I think she has a great game for grass, she just needs the experience of playing on it.

She is now 65 in the world and 35 in the WTA race. I'd like to see her in the top 35 by the end of the year and get seeded for slams next year. Marta has so much potential, but fans and herself just need to be patient - her time will come.

Let's all stay positive and be excited for a very bright future!
